Crysis – Walkthrough – Chapter 5: Onslaught

Chapter 5: Onslaught is one of those missions you wish to finish as fast as possible. It’s long and tedious if don’t the wrong way. It’s possibly the hardest for me to device for you a strategy because of the multiple trial and error to find the most straightforward steps to complete each objective. You don’t want to spend over an hour on this awful warzone.

Nomad starts this mission by driving a tank. The initial mission is basically to help your squad of tanks and soldiers get past the chokepoints protected by tanks and KPA with Missile Launchers.

What many might not realize is that as you advance, your own team helps you clear the area. This is why i mentioned “the wrong way”. Some players might start dismantling the whole area trying to clear, which is a mistake. All you need to do is to listen to what Strickland says, and help the squad advance forward toward the Train station.

[Push ahead to the train station. Activated]

Strickland: Team Idaho this is command, we’re pushing up the valley all the way to the mine. Repeat: phase line is the mine. Expect heavy resistance from KPA armor up ahead. Air command, this is Strickland. What’s the word on that air support? Over.

Pilot 1: That’s a nogo, sir. Air space is not yet secure. Our jets are occupied with strategic targets on the other side of the island. Air support’s on hold until further notice.

[Mouse 1] – Fire main cannon

[Mouse 2] – Fire minigun turret

Strickland: Copy that, we’ll have to do this the hard way. All units, this is Major Strickland. Air support is on hold. Push ahead to phase line alpha. Let’s go! Let’s go! First line of defense is a blockade at the train station.

US Tank 2: Idaho Two, under heavy fire. We are getting fucking slammed.

Note: After driving the tank out of the tunnel there are two paths: Forward along the train rail and to the right downhill.

It is a big mistake to go right. You will get too much attention from Tanks and Missile Launchers. Follow the tank ahead of you along the train rail.

Keep your eyes on the right side of the rail. You will see in the distance an enemy tank. Press [1] to launch a missile at the nearby tank. It usually takes two shots, but it’s hard when the land is irregular giving you an angled view, or when the enemy tank is moving. Try shooting the wheel area.

As you go past the curve, another tank is on the train rail. Shoot it before it notices your presence.

US Tank 1: Nice shooting, Idaho Two.

[Objective Updated]

Strickland: Nomad. We’ve got heavy resistance at the train crossing up ahead. Think you can neutralize?

Nomad: I’ve got it covered, Major.

US Tank 1: Fuck yeah!

Note: When you hear Strickland saying this, stop moving. Press [F] to abandon the Tank. Stealth, and switch to Precision Rifle. Press [C] to make sure you have the laser and telescopic lens attached.

Not too far ahead you can see a nest atop a hill. There is a KPA up there with a Missile Launcher.

US Tank 1: Idaho command, we have multiple bandits inbound. Over.

Strickland: Push on through, boys.

Note: Use the Precision Rifle to shoot the red barrel. It will take care of the KPA without much damage to you and your tank.

US Tank 1: Command, it is really heating up down here. We need assistance … NOW!

Note: Aboard the tank again, and move forward. You will see a barricade and a jeep below the hill you shot at. It’s better you leave the tank here before you approach the opening to your right. Stealth. Use the Precision Rifle to kill the KPA manning the Jeep Turret. Another KPA will come into view from behind the barricade. Take the jeep to move past the barricade

US Tank 2: Idaho Two is down. Repeat. Idahow Two is down.

Strickland: We can’t push ahead until that train station is secure. Clear’ em out, Nomad. Anti-tank units ahead. Nomad, take’ em out!

Note: You will now reach a dead end. A massive crater separates the train rail apart.

US Tank 2: Nomad, deal with those RPGs!

Strickland: Nomad, our tank column cannot proceed until the KPA threat at the train station is neutralized.

To your right is a open field. Switch to Missile Launcher and shoot the Tank located over 200 yards from you. Now backtrack to the nest on the hill behind you following the train trail. The KPA you killed when you blew the red barrel has some Missile Launcher ammo, Explosive Charge x 2, and FY71 ammo x 2.

Crysis – Walkthrough – Chapter 4: Assault

Marine 1: So … this is the famous nano-suit we keep hearing about.

Marine 2: Man! I gotta get me one of those!

Psycho: Yeah, like Uncle Sam’s gonna spend millions to protect your scrawny arse, Johnson.

Marine 2: Hell, you won’t be mouthing off when I’ve got my super-suit! I’ll go ninja on your ass!

Psycho: Now that I’d like to see.

VTOL Pilot: OK guys, we’re entering a combat zone. We’ve got a lot of SAM activity down there. I’m going to circle around and fire countermeasures before we land.

Psycho: The KPA’s rumbled us, mate. The bastards are blowing this ridge to smithereens. Keep your head down, or you’ll lose it.

Nomad: Then why the hell are we landing here?

Psycho: It’s either shells or SAMs. Shells tend to miss more.

VTOL Pilot: This is as far as I go, gentlemen. The harbor’s still too hot. Good luck out there.

Marine 2: Damn! Wish I had one of those suits now!

Marine: Corpsman, get the injured onboard. I want this VTOL out of here now. Follow me, Sir. Lieutenant Bradley’s waiting for you at the overlook.

Marine 3: Move it soldier!

Marine 1: Incoming!

[Meet Lieutenant Bradley. Activated]

Marine 1: Get down! Get down!

Marine: Air strike’s started. Let’s move.

Note: Stand still as soon as you walk out of the VTOL. Look to the ground in front of Psycho. You will see a SCAR rifle there. Turn right, and behind you is another SCAR Rifle for extra ammo on the portable bed.

Now, follow the marine who has the flashlight, and walk the path toward the green mark in the mini-map.

Marine 2: For Christ’s sake get me some fucking help here! Where are the goddamned medics?

Marine 4: Partlett, Lancaster, set up a defensive position there!

Marine 2: Hang in there, buddy. We’re going to get you out of here.

Marine 4: And someone get that man a medic!

Note: Following the path, you will find a fence and two houses. To your right is a corpse. Grab the FY71 rifle. To your left is a black guy kneeling by a corpse. Grab the FY71 rifle for extra ammo. Turn left to see another corpse. Grab the Pistol. There is another FY71 rifle by the pile of wood.

Walk inside the house to your left. You will find the following ammo supplies:

  • SCAR Rifle x 4
  • SCAR Ammo pack x 5
  • Frag Grenade x 8
  • Precision Rifle x 1
  • Precision Rifle Ammo X 1

Get outside the house, and follow the marine holding the rifle flashlight. Now walk to Lieutenant Bradley. He is crouching by the edge of the cliff overlook. An in-game cut-scene will play.

Marine 4: Get up to the overlook, Sir. LT. Bradley is expecting you.

LT. Bradley: Osprey Command, the mission’s gone to hell. Our position has been compromised. (Explosion)

We are taking artillery fire from the harbor…

Strickland: Lieutenant, I don’t give a good god-damn about your problems. You will take out those AAs and you will hold that road! Understood?

LT. Bradley: Son of a bitch. Understood. Holy shit! There goes another one!

Note: A North American jet is hit by a AAA missile and crash lands nearby.

LT. Bradley: Nomad! We are really up against it here! The Koreans have AA guns in the harbor. Jets can’t get a lock: something’s jamming our radar. (Explosion)

We’ve gotta take out those last AAs so our heavy VTOLs can land.

Nomad: Doesn’t sound too difficult.

LT. Bradley: You want the job? You got it.

[Checkpoint Reached]

[Game Saved]

[Meet Lieutenant Bradley. Completed]

[Destroy the Anti-Aircraft Units. Activated]

Psycho: I’ll hold the ridge. Catch you up later, ok?

OBJECTIVES: Locate and Extract Civilian Hostages: U.S. forces are launching an assault on a KPA controlled harbor. Assist U.S. forces then proceed to the mine and rescue the hostages.

  • Meet Lieutenant Bradley.
  • Destroy the Anti-Aircraft Units: Clear the airspace for U.S. air support. Neutralize all Anti-Aircraft Artillery (AAA).

Note: Press [Tab] to open the Objectives and Map. On the map, the orange arrow is Nomad. Blue arrows are friendly marines. Your targets are the green marks pointing the location of both AAAs.

Your first target is the southern AAA, located at quadrant D-4.

First, walk down the hill and kill one of the KPA soldiers. Your team will dispatch the remaining ones. There are now about four corpses. Each has a nearby FY71 rifle. Grab them.

The security guard booth to your right has FY71 Rifle x 3 and Pistol x 2.

After you leave the security guard booth, walk a few steps toward the sniper tower. Press [F] to climb the sniper tower’s ladder. From there you get a sneak peek to the whole scenario. The image below numbers the steps to do up to the first AAA (Anti-Air Artillery).

When you reach the path curve, move left toward the edge of the cliff. There’s a rock with a V-shape. Walk slowly to the edge, and look below.

There’s a ledge below where you can jump down safely without taking damage.

Engage stealth mode, and keep walking down the cliff. Hide behind the rock at the bottom when you reach the beach. There are four KPA soldiers you can dispatch by using the rocks and vegetation for cover.

Do your best to remain out of sight of the boat patrolling the shore. After all four KPA are dead, remain low-profile. There is another KPA soldier standing in the water next to the parked boat. Get a headshot.

Stealth, and jump the fence. The house is empty, so don’t bother exploring. Just walk next to its door.

There are Missile Launcher x 2 on the table outside the house.

Walk back to the beach, and take the boat by standing near it and pressing [F]. Press the [down] and [right] arrow keys — or the [S] and [D] key simultaneously to move the boat backwards. Then move forward into the harbor. You will see an enemy boat. I prefer to drive the boat in collision course. Shoot the KPA soldier manning the turret. If things don’t work out well, get off the boat and wait a few seconds. The enemy boat is going to park by the nearby isle anyway.

Psycho: Nomad, this is Psycho. I’m heading over to the harbor. I’ll give you a shout when I find a sniper roost.

Note: After the boat soldiers are dead, drive the boat around the small isle on the right side and park it by the shore. The reasoning here is that if you go into the harbor to the big isle you will get shot by a sniper standing guard at the tower on the cliff.

By going around the small isle and parking by the shore, you remain out of sight. Leave the boat and go into strength-mode to jump up the cliff. Go uphill until you reach the opposite side. You will see a small isle and a patrolling boat.

Use the Precision Rifle to kill the soldier manning the boat’s turret.

Turn to your left until you see the Sniper Tower.

Position yourself so the tower is now below you. Easy headshot with the Precision Rifle.

Jump down the cliff, and press [F] to climb the tower. There should be a Precision Rifle X 1.

From this tower, you have a clear view of the two KPA soldiers manning both turret nests on each side of the big isle. Kill them both with the Precision Rifle.

Now use your FY71 Rifle to destroy the black mines floating on the water.

Go down the cliff toward the area you saw the previous patrolling boat. There is a boat parked down there. Press [F] to aboard it and drive it toward the big isle. You will likely draw the enemy’s attention. There is another turret on the far right of the isle. Just switch to stealth-mode, and press [F] to leave the boat. Now swim to the rocky shore.

Switch to strength-mode to climb up the rocks, and hide behind the turret nest. There might be a KPA soldier roaming the area. Kill it and draw the enemy to you using the back of the turret nest as a hideout to shoot your headshots.

Stealth and look around you. To your left is another turret nest. You will find Missile Launcher x 2 resting on its side.

Don’t forget the FY71 ammo from the KPA soldier you killed earlier. Hide in this turret nest. One or two KPA soldiers will come investigate very soon. Replenish stealth energy and get a headshot.

Near the turret nest is a pile of ammo boxes. On top of them are Explosive Charge x 2, FY71 ammo x 2, and four more Missile Launchers on the side inside a box.

Be careful. There are still three more KPA soldiers searching for you silently. Two might sneak on you from behind. Look at the mini-map to stay aware of their location. They are marked as yellow or red arrows.

Move toward the AAA unit (green dot in the mini-map). There’s a single KPA standing guard. Get a headshot and approach the AAA.

Stand near the AAA, and browse through your inventory until you have the C4 (Explosive Charge).

(Press [Mouse 1] to place C4 explosive, and [Mouse 1] to detonate)

Walk away and take cover. Now hit the [Mouse 2] button to switch to the Explosive Charge detonator. Then press [Mouse 1] to detonate the C4.

Psycho: Got it, Nomad. One to go.

[Game Saved]

Note: Switch to Speed-mode and run through the road until you find a jeep parked near the road. Drive until you find a fork. Turn to your left to find the bridge. Open the map by pressing [TAB] to see the location of the last AAA.

Psycho: Nomad, I spotted a KPA comms trailer near some shacks to the north of the harbor. Check it for intel on enemy emplacements.

[Sabotage the Jammer on the North Korean Cruiser. Activated]

Note: After the AAA is destroyed, and the new mission is updated press [B] to use the binoculars to familiarize with the new objective’s surroundings. Look at the North Korean Cruiser to see the Jammer marked on your binocular screen. It’s on the second floor of the cruiser.

Move along the harbor toward the second building. However, hide by the piles of bags quickly. A jeep will drive by. It has a patrol pattern path driving around the building.

With all the obstacles such as piles of bags, and gas cilinders it’s hard to headshot the KPA manning the jeep turret. Let them go. There’s a way to make them stop by. Move toward the back of the building.

Enter the building. There are only three KPA soldiers there. Kill them. The jeep will stop by the door. Kill them while they aren’t mobile. Don’t destroy the Jeep. You will need it.

Drive the jeep toward the North Korean Cruiser. Use the jeep turret to kill the KPA soldier manning a turret nest. Or you can shoot him from afar with the Precision Rifle.

Abandon the jeep immediately, switch to stealth-mode and switch to Missile Launcher. Hopefully you have at least two missiles. If you do not have two missiles or don’t have a Missile Launcher at all, don’t panic. Behind the turret nest are two piles of black ammo boxes. There are Missile Launchers sitting on those boxes.

A helicopter will come out of the blue to engage you. Destroy it with the Missile Launcher.

There’s four more KPA soldiers in the area beyond the turret nest, and a jeep with two more KPA. So watch your flank and back.

Now drive the Jeep, and align it parallel to the North Korean Cruiser and the edge of the harbor. Dismount the Jeep.

Jump on the Jeep. Switch to strength-mode and jump above the North Korean Cruiser. A KPA soldier might be coming from the deck’s door.

Psycho: Nomad, there’s a transmitter on top of that cruiser. See if you can get onboard and disable it.

Note: There’s only one KPA soldier in the Cruiser after you go upstairs. Now head into the Cruiser’s command room.

There are Missile Launcher x 2 and FY71 X 1 on a pile of black ammo boxes before you enter the Cruiser room.

Psycho: There’s the transmitter controls.

Note: Approach the computer terminal.

[Sabotage the Jammer on the North Korean Cruiser. Completed]

[Paint target for air strike. Activated]

[Air strike available. Use binoculars to lock target!]

Strickland: That’s it. Air defenses clear. Now paint that cruiser with your target laser and enjoy the fireworks.

Note: No need to walk back downstairs. Switch to speed-mode, and run through the deck and jump onto the cargo containers.

Move toward the right side of the building. Press [B] to use the binoculars. Look at the North Korean Cruiser and press the [Mouse 1] button.

Jets will fly into the harbor and launch missiles against the North Korean Cruiser, sinking it underwater.

[Paint target for air stricke. Completed]

Pilot: Snakebite one, this is echo niner, target confirmed. We are locked and coming in hot.

Pilot 1: Roger echo niner, confirmed target. Take it out.

[Game Saved]

Strickland: Cruiser’s down … Helluva job, Nomad. Our heavy VTOLs are inbound with tanks.

[Secure the Harbor. Activated]

Strickland: Hold off the KPA air units until we get there. Over.

Note: A helicopter appears. Switch to stealth-mode and shoot the Missile Launcher twice. The helicopter crashes down.

[Secure the Harbor. Completed]

[Rendezvous with Major Strickland at the rail tunnel. Activated]

[Checkpoint Reached]

Strickland: Way to show’ em how it’s done, Nomad.

[Game Saved]

Strickland: We’re moving our tanks into the harbor now. Rendezvous at the rail tunnel. Over.

Note: Use speed-mode to run toward the Jeep you used earlier to jump onto the North Korean Cruiser. Miraculously it is still safe and sound.

Drive now toward the green dot mark on the mini-map. Just follow the train rail. You will see six friendly VTOL aircrafts approaching the rendezvous point.

Switch to strength-mode and jump across the fence.

Switch to speed-mode to reach the rendezvous point. Jump atop the tank.

Strickland: Gentlemen! My hat’s off to you. The harbor is ours … We’re heading up the valley. Take one of our tanks and follow the column through the tunnel … You are qualified to handle one of these, right?

Nomad: Yes sir!

Strickland: Psycho! JSOC’s got an assignment for ya. Fall in with Alpha Company. Lieutenant Cooper’s expecting you.

Psycho: Count me in, boss! Take care of yourself, Nomad. The beers are on me when this is over.

Strickland: Mike! Put a round in that tunnel entrance and let’s get this wagon train moving. Nice shot! Now, let’s get these babies up that valley and give General Kyong a warm Idaho welcome!

[Rendezvous with Major Strickland at the rail tunnel. Completed]

Crysis – Walkthrough – Chapter 3: Relic

Prophet: The situation’s FUBAR. I still can’t reach JSOC on the secure channel. Must be another jammer, we need to find it and take it out. Until then we’re on our own.

The highlighted area of the map is about 3 clicks up this valley.

Note: A weird alien horn sound is heard in the distance. Prophet rise his brow and ponders.

Prophet: The sooner we are off this rock the better.

Note: Prophet’s nanosuit starts shortcircuiting out of the blue. Nomad’s visor view gets noise artifacts as if breaking up visual. A massive alien vessel decloaks near Nomad and swoops down to capture Prophet, disappearing in the distance with its prey flying at an incredible speed over the trees.

Nomad: Prophet! G-dammit! Prophet!

[Secondary: Disable North Korean GPS jamming station. Activated]

Nomad: What the hell?! Prophet, you read me? Come in, Prophet. Come in! Dammit!

Strickland: Nomad, this is Major Strickland at Op Com. We just lost your squad leader. Suit readings and location signal are negative! What the hell is going on down there?!

Nomad: Prophet is MIA! (aka Missing in Action) I repeat: Prophet is MIA! I’ve got two men down and something just grabbed Prophet. It dragged him into the jungle! He’s gone!

Strickland: We’re going to pull you out of there, son. Sit tight and I’ll get a bird down there to you ASAP.

Nomad: Negative, sir. I can still complete. I’ve got intel on Rosenthal’s location. He’s being held at an excavation site somewhere near a Korean military base. I’m going after him.

Strickland: It’s your call, son. But our GPS system is being jammed. We can provide no tactical support at this time. If you can locate and disable the jammer I’ll run a satellite scan of the area and see if we can locate that excavation site.

Nomad: Copy, Major. Much appreciated.

Note: The first thing you should do is to look around the ground for Prophet’s weapon. It’s easy to just move forward and miss this little secret gift. You will find near the precision rifle a Grenade Launcher Attachment.

These are handy to blow up things like a jeep, a sniper tower, or a bunch of soldiers close to each other. To use the Grenade Launcher Attachment simply press [X] to toggle between the following modes: single-bullet shots, multi-bullet shots or Grenade Launcher shots.

Move to your right to find a Cabbage plantation field.

Move parallel to the fence for cover until you reach the back of the small house.

A jeep will drive in and its two passengers will abandon the jeep to meet up with another two soldiers. Take one down with a headshot using the cloak tactic after shooting him to target the next soldier.

After all four KPA soldiers are dead, approach the table. You will find the following ammo:

  • FY71 ammo x 2
  • Pistol ammo x 2
  • Pistol (weapon) x 1
  • Shotgun (weapon) x 1
  • Shotgun ammo x 2

Note: After gathering ammo from the table, I recommend following the fence toward the nearby village. The stealthy approach is the best decision to shutdown the GPS jammer. Otherwise, you will have to deal with a very intense battle. The all-out-war approach in this specific village means 24 KPA soldiers coming to kill you. Now that I have your attention, and jaw-dropped, take the stealthy approach, buddie.

All-out-war option: If you wish to go Rambo, good luck. Drive the jeep all the way into the village until you are in front of the green building trailer and use it as a stand-still refuge to take out all the 24 KPA soldiers. Just be careful with incoming KPA soldiers throwing grenades past the door, and KPA soldiers shooting with shotguns. These can kill you in no time.

Stealth-approach: If you got schooled with the Rambo-style, then take my recommendation and go in quiet and cloaked. Back at the small house with those four KPA soldiers you just killed, follow the fence toward the nearby village.

Use the white water tank tower as your focus point. Follow the fence in that direction.

As you move along the fence, you will come across a wooden box next to the fence. Hide behind to recharge cloak energy. Keep moving along the fence until you find another wooden box. Hide there by kneeling down, and recharge.

Look at the white water tank tower again. You will see a blue barrel. Walk toward it and hide behind the blue barrel.

Turn around the fence to face a wall-less building storing banana boxes. Go in their direction, then kneel down behind a palette of banana boxes to recharge energy.

Turn around and you will find behind the banana boxes the green building trailer and the GPS jammer device. Head toward the green building trailer door and hide to recharge energy.

Move toward the GPS jammer and press [F] to disable it.

  • Strickland: Good job, Nomad. We’ve got our GPS system online. Satellite recon indicates a North Korean compound close to the river. Transmitting the coordinates now. We’ll scan the area for your excavation site.

Note: Hide inside the green housing trailer again to recharge energy.

[Secondary: Disable North Korean GPS jamming station. Completed]

Video: This video shows you how to reach the GPS jamming station undetected, and how to leave the village without shooting a single soldier.

[Infiltrate the KPA Military Base and gather intelligence. Activated]

Note: Exit the green building trailer and walk across the road toward the white housing. Outside on the black boxes you will find the following ammo supplies:

    • Rifle Grenade x 8
    • FY71 Rifle (weapon) x 2
    • Pistol (weapon) x 1
    • Frag Grenade x 3
    • FY71 ammo x 4

Note: Walk around the black boxes, and kneel down to recharge energy. Turn to your left toward the SW (southwest) and walk past the orange car into the nearby housing (the one with the green and blue barrels outside). Walk the length of the house kneeled down until you come to the other side. Cloak.

Walk past the two green garbage bins toward the fence and kneel down. Recharge energy. Jump the fence and enter the plantation field of what looks like red tomatoes until you reach the fence.

Jump the fence, and look at a distant wooden box by the edge of a cabbage plantation field across the road. Run toward it and kneel behind it. Make sure you are aligned correctly with the box. On line of sight you might see a jeep on the left side from your hiding place (the wooden box). That jeep has a KPA soldier manning its turret. Decloak and regenerate energy.

Cloak and move behind the rock shown in the image below. It might get tricky here to not get detected. There is a turret nest with two KPA soldiers just a few steps away.

Afterwards, reach the bushes beyond to hide. If your awareness meter gets activity try to cloak again quickly with what little energy you managed to regenerate to lower the awareness meter and keep moving through the bushes along the mountain wall. Don’t engage combat. Keep your way through the jungle hugging the mountain wall until Strickland talks again.

Strickland: Heads up, Nomad. We’re picking up a vehicle heading your way with heavy guard. Keep your eyes peeled.

Note: If you kept walking along the mountain wall, the path through the jungle will suddenly become very narrow until you reach a small cliff. Now you will notice to your left the road is below. You are positioned strategically. Below you is a convoy of KPA soldiers escorting a Transport Vehicle. Your first target should be the KPA soldier manning the Transport Vehicle’s turret.

Get a headshot, then cloak and move back so that their line of sight of you is limited to prevent enemy fire on yourself. It can be helpful to align your headshots with the horizontal rockbed.

In this strategic spot, none of the convoy will come around the mountain to reach you. The KPA soldier in front of the convoy might sometimes flank you from the left though. Look at the mini-map. If there’s any red mark on your left, then one is sneaking on you. All the five KPA soldiers will hide behind the bushes fleeing from your fire. Try to strike a few headshots from afar. When you see only two marks on your mini-map, jump down from the rocky cliff to hunt them down.

Enter the Transport Vehicle. These vehicles have a lot of health which nicely protects you from direct damage. Press the [down] + [right] arrow-buttons simultaneously to move the vehicle backwards, and turn around to go down the road into the KPA Military Compound (which I call: the Bridge station).

There are only six KPA soldiers in there. One inside a Turret Nest, and another one manning a Transport Vehicle turret. A KPA soldier will come out from the Transportation Vehicle and the driver. The other two come from the building.

Sometimes a helicopter might show up (seems to be random). If this happens, leave the vehicle immediately and cloak. Switch to Missile Launcher, and shoot the helicopter twice to destroy it. If your Missile Launcher doesn’t have the laser, press [C] to enable the laser beam attachment. If you have no Missile Launcher, grab one from inside the white building.

Enter the house (KPA Military Compound).

In the first room, you will find the following ammo supplies:

    • FY71 ammo x 2
    • Missile Launcher (weapon) x 3
    • Precision Rifle (weapon) x 1
    • Flashbang Grenade x 3
    • Smoke Grenade x 3
    • Frag Grenade x 5

In the second room of the same building you will find:

    • SMG ammo x 4
    • FY71 ammo x 7
    • Missile Launcher (weapon) x 2
    • Shotgun ammo x 3

As you see, this place is your all-purpose ammo safehouse. Make sure to grab a Missile Launcher, because you will need it later to take down a helicopter.

Video: Shows the battle of the escorted Transport Vehicle Convoy up to this point. Including the random helicopter appearance.

All full on ammo, take the other Transport Vehicle, not the one you arrived on. Reason: It has full-health, and it’s nice to have it out of your way for when you come back this route, later, you can drive through the road.

Drive past the bridge. The road here is kinda a zigzag of curves shaped like an “S”.

Thus, watch your left flank as you maneuver the road. Another Transport Vehicle will come down the road toward you shooting you with its turret. Take out the turret soldier, and kill the other four KPA soldiers coming out of vehicle.

Try not to damage their vehicle too much in case you need it later.

As you move along the road, Strickland will talk.

Strickland: Nomad, you are closing in on the North Korean compound. We’re planning an assault on the island. Any intel you can gather would be a great help. It’s heavily fortified so look for a quiet way in.

If you hear the sound of an helicopter (random happening), I recommend leaving your vehicle.

If no helicopter comes, still, leave the vehicle before reaching the North Korean Compound. There is a sniper tower that will sound the alarm.

Cloak and keep walking uphill through the jungle, not the road itself. Hide in thick bushes.

At the top of the hill you will find a fence. Get full on cloak energy, and cross the road to avoid detection from the distant sniper tower. Move along the fence to the left (mini-map says W for west) until you reach the corner of the fence.

Recharge energy, and continue to kneel down and moving along the fence now going NW (northwest). The fence ends on a massive rock, and to your left is a cliff.

The only way now is to jump the fence using Strength mode. Be quick and switch to Cloak mode before you land on the other side of the fence. The strength-mode jump depleted most of your energy, get behind one of the plantain trees for cover until you recharge energy.

There are two KPA soldiers standing in the middle of the Cabbage field about 60 yards from you. Turn to your left, and get behind the nearby fence. Your goal is to reach the vicinity of the two red antenna towers.

That fence isn’t long. Before reaching the next nearby fence make sure to regenerate energy.

When you see the corner of this new fence, stop and recharge energy.

Past the corner, beyond the two red antennas. Between the antennas and a tree, you can see in the horizon a sniper on a second tower. Position yourself so that the tree blocks the sniper’s view. Decloak, and recharge energy.

As seen in the screenshot above, while behind this tree, turn your view to the right of the two red antennas. There are two green building trailers. Walk toward the leftmost — it is an ammunition building. Hide inside the ammo building trailer.

You have two options: All-out-war (Rambo-mode) or stealthy approach. I personally love the ninja approach. It’s after all a very-Very long chapter, and I prefer to go as quick as possible. Personally, I find this chapter is the longest and the one with the most KPA soldiers. If stealthing your way through is too boring for you, be my guest and do it Rambo-style.

This base is full of KPA soldiers. I counted 16 corpses, plus the snipers on both towers. Most of them have FY71 Rifles, some have shotguns which pack a hard punch on your health, and four KPA soldiers have submachine guns. If you plan on using the submachine guns, remember the Bridge Station had SMG x 4.

The Ammo Building Trailer has the following supplies:

    Shotgun (weapon) x 2
    Shotgun ammo x 3
    Pistol (weapon) x 3
    Pistol ammo x 2
    Frag Grenade x 5
    FY71 Rifle x 1
    Rifle Grenade x 8

Once you have cleared the base, and replenish ammo at the ammunition building, you will see three building trailers aligned in front. Go to the one in the middle to press [F] on the computer terminal.

    Nomad: Accessing tactical network.

    Nomad: Download completed.

Strickland: Got it, Nomad. Nice work. Looks like the enemy forces are concentrated around that mountain. This’ll help us plan our line of attack. We also have the location of the excavation site. You should see the co-ordinates on your PDA right about … now. I suggest you take a vehicle and stick to the road.

    [Checkpoint reached]

    [Game saved]

[Infiltrate the KPA Military Base and gather intelligence. Completed]

[Proceed to the excavation site. Activated]

Note: Walk outside of the green building trailer where you just accessed the computer terminal, and immediately turn to your left heading toward the sniper tower to the southeast.

All buildings here are empty. Near the sniper tower is a turret nest. There is a Missile Launcher x 1 there.

Jump across the fence near the turret nest. There’s a jeep on plain sight. Press [F] to enter the jeep, and press [F1] for third-person view.

Shoot the two KPA soldiers on your left side 30 feet away. There’s a jeep near them (in case you ever need it).

You will likely draw enemy attention from your right flank. There are two or three KPA soldiers coming out of the back of a Transport Vehicle down the road to the south. (see image below)

As soon as you dispatch these, get off the jeep and take the Transport Vehicle. It has more hit points than the Jeep. Another single KPA soldier drawn by the noise starts shooting from your left flank from a fence.

The nearby house has around six KPA soldiers, take out the turret nest with your Transport Vehicle and get rid of the other five nuisances.

Once cleared, get out of the Transport Vehicle, the house has the following ammo supplies:

    • Frag Grenade x 5
    • Missile Launcher x 3
    • FY71 Rifle (weapon) x 3
    • Precision Rifle (weapon) x 1

Return to the Transport Vehicle outside, and go down the road. However, sometimes a KPA soldier is inside a turret nest near that house. Eventually, the road ends on a river.

This video shows this scene after you accessed the computer terminal and came this way toward the excavation site.

Across the river is a house with a boat outside. Get off the vehicle, and cloak. Kill the KPA soldier near the house. Five KPA soldiers will come to hunt you down. Use the house for cover, and shoot through the windows and the door.

Sometimes, a sniper might be drawn by the battle noise and shoot from above a cliff. Otherwise, ignore the nearby buildings which are empty. If you really need a Missile Launcher, optionally, you can head NW (northwest) on mini-map downhill toward two houses near the river.

Behind a black pickup truck is a pile of black boxes. There are two missile launchers on the boxes. None of these two houses behind have ammo. The one to the left houses a boat. Ignore them.

Get back to the main road, get into a black pickup truck and make a U-turn to face the two-fork road yellow sign.

Take the right path until you see the sniper tower at the excavation site. Get off the pickup truck, and cloak.

Head into the jungle on the left side of the road. You will fall down four feet, and get to view a second sniper tower in the distance and a turret nest. You better stay out of sight (hide in bushes or trees) and hide to regenerate energy, because if you get seen the alarm horn will sound warning all soldiers to come after you.

Keep moving toward the second sniper tower, and hide behind trees. Watch the enemey-awareness meter — sometimes there are two KPA soldiers in the jungle behind you. Don’t kill them. Cloak immediately before the awareness meter is fully red. Keep heading toward the sniper tower. There’s an area you can climb uphill among fallen trees.

Past the fallen trees, Nomad will communicate with Strickland.

Nomad: Strickland, I’m approaching the excavation site.

Strickland: Copy, Nomad. Infiltrate the research dome and get Rosenthal outta there. I’ll scramble a VTOL to pull you out.

    [Game saved]

[Proceed to the excavation site. Completed]

    [Infiltrate the research dome. Activated]

Note: As you come out of the jungle into the excavation site, to your left is one of the sniper towers. You will see three green building trailers. Move toward the closest one to you and regenerate energy inside it. Move to the next green building (middle one).

Beware. There are two sniper towers on your right too. It’s tricky to remain out of sight and to dodge them while you regenerate energy. Keep moving toward the rightmost green building trailer. That’s the ammunition building.

You can do this the stealthy way, or the all-out-war way. The ammunition building is a perfect place for the latter.

The first ammunition building trailer to the right contains the following supplies:

    • SMG ammo x 4
    • Rifle Grenade x 16
    • Grenade Launcher Attachment x 3
    • Shotgun (weapon) x 3
    • Shotgun ammo x 3
    • Submachine Gun (weapon) x 5
    • FY71 (weapon) x 2
    • FY71 ammo x 3
    • Frag Grenade x 5

About 18 KPA soldiers will come searching for you at the ammunition building trailer once you start the fireworks. Stay within until most of them are dead to avoid sniper fire from any of the three sniper towers.

Optional: Sometimes it’s tricky to shoot at snipers from afar with a FY71 rifle, or a SMG. If you didn’t pick a Precision Rifle from the previous ammo buildings, then you can either use the Missile Launcher or use a new toy available in this excavation site’s ammo building trailer — use the grenade launcher attachment (there are three) and stock up on Rifle Grenades (there are 16) to blow up their towers from close distance. Press [C] to choose the grenade launcher attachment. Then press [X] to switch from bullets attachment to grenades attachment. Press the [Mouse 1] button to shoot the grenade into the tower the way you usually shoot bullets. Guide your shots with the laser beam (accessible by pressing [C])

Once all enemies are taken care of, see your mini-map and head toward the green mark. I’d move toward the left side, and jump down into some sort of trench to block the right side’s enemy view.

On this side, you can see a KPA soldier manning a turret nest. Take him out.

Another KPA soldier will come after you. Move along the wall, and slightly look around the corner. There are two KPA on the distance.

I use that corner as a cover for the turret nest on the far right side of the excavation dome.

Once the area is clear, head into the dome through this door (with the red star on a white circle).

Get near the keypad on the right side of the door and press [F] to use.

The door opens, and a cinematic cutscene plays out. Rosenthal, the head archaeologist talks to General Kyong seen in a big screen.

Rosenthal: General Kyong, listen to me. I’m picking up some very strange readings. We need to know what we’re dealing with here before you go on …

Kyong: I’m tired of these delays. You were never this cautious with any of the other fossils … I know what happened in the Hindu Kush, Doctor.

Rosenthal: That was different … the other samples, the Afghan artifacts, the Siberian, they were all fragments. This is the first intact specimen we’ve ever found. We have to proceed with caution.

Kyong: There is no time Doctor. The Americans are already on the island.

Rosenthal: I’m not concerned with your diplomatic maneuverings, General.

Kyong: You should be. Your Pentagon will militarize this project. Do you really think they will allow you the same latitude we have?

Rosenthal: I understand. I just need a little more time. My scan is almost complete.

Kyong: This temple is our only concern. I’m not interested in your fossil, doctor.

Rosenthal: Not just a fossil. A fossilized, carbon-based machine! A machine that pre-dates man by 2 million years!

Kyong: That doesn’t matter now! This temple is the source of …

Rosenthal: Temple?! Good God man, we don’t even know what that thing is! If you open it, there’s no telling what could happen. Hold on. The first images are coming through. What the … ? That can’t be … There’s something moving … But that’s impossible … My God! Kyong! You have to stop what you’re doing! It’s too dangerous. You have no idea what’s inside!

    Helena: Dad?! What’s wrong?

Rosenthal: Helena. You have to stop him. You have to get out of there now! They’re still alive!

Helena: Who’s alive? What are you talking about?

    Rosenthal: The fossil … It’s still alive, it’s …

Note: Electric discharge comes off the enormous fossil as it drains power from the nearby cables.

    Rosenthal: Oh, God!

Helena: Dad, we’re picking up a microwave burst transmission from your area. What did you do?

Rosenthal: Get out of there now!

Note: Nomad’s nanosuit starts shortcircuiting causing him to decloak. Rosenthal sees Nomad upclose approaching him.

Rosenthal: What the … who are you?

Nomad: U.S. Special Forces, we need to get out of here.

Rosenthal: Oh … Thank God. Kyong has my team … my daughter … up at the mine in the mountains … You have to get to them. I think we’ve made a terrible mistake!

Note: The fossil starts shortcircuiting again with a lot of electric static.

    Rosenthal: What have I done?

Note: The big screen starts displaying in red text: Danger Evacuate Facility. Suddenly the entire room goes into a pitch white for about five seconds.

Suddenly, the nanosuit reboot system appears onscreen, and the whole lab appears completely icy frozen. Rosenthal is frozen with his hand stretched covering his face.

    [Infiltrate the research dome. Complete]

Strickland: Nomad, we’re picking up a massive energy spike from the center of the island … what in the hell just happened out there, son?

Nomad: Rosenthal’s dead … his discovery just turned this whole place into a ice cube. They found another relic up in the mountains, a bigger one. I need to get up there fast.

Strickland: Your bird’s on its way, son. We identified a safe LZ (Landing Zone) a few clicks down the river. You’d better grab yourself a boat and head down there. I’m seeing heavy reinforcements headed your way. Haul ass, kid. It’s gonna get rough out there.

    Crysis – Walkthrough – Chapter 2: Recovery

Psycho: Dead. Son of a bitch!

    Prophet: G– damn it!

Psycho: What’s happening, boss? We’re dropping like flies.

Prophet: I’d tell you if I knew. You have my word … Stand back now; I’m gonna vaporize.

    Psycho: So long, mate …

Prophet: Eyes open, boys. KPA comms center up ahead. Watch my back, Nomad.

    [Capture the communications trailer. Activated.]

    [Onscreen Mission: Trespass]

    Prophet: Psycho, cover us.

    Psycho: On it.

Prophet: Nomad, you’re with me. G– damn … nothing but bodies. Area looks clear. Move in on that trailer. I’m going to access the KPA’s secure channel. Nomad, you and Psycho secure the perimeter.

Alright, listen up! The KPA are holding a civilian hostage in the village about a click ahead. Could be one of Rosenthal’s crew.

Nomad, I need you to infiltrate the village and gather any intel you can. I’ll stay here and monitor incoming comms. Your priority is to find that hostage. Understood?

    Nomad: Understood.

Prophet: Psycho will provide support as soon as we’re done here.

    [Capture the communications trailer. Completed]

[Find the hostage in the village. Activated.]

Note: You will find one FY71 ammo pack near Prophet. Three FY71 packs on the other side of the trailer standing on wood boxes. Don’t waste time exploring the nearby houses. There’s nothing to find.

Use speed mode to reach the jeep located down the road.

Prophet: Low and slow. Intel suggests snipers and armored patrols up ahead. I’m moving out to secure a rendezvous location. I’ll keep you briefed.

Psycho: Nomad, I’ll take the high ground. Confirm when you’re inside the village.

Note: Once Psycho says this, you will see a jeep approaching in your direction. The enemy awareness meter on the left-side of the mini-map is half-way. If you prefer the stealthy approach, cloak and get real close to the jeep to kill the armed soldier. Otherwise, keep driving the jeep and use the turret to kill the guy atop the incoming enemy jeep. Kill the driver leaving the jeep too.

There are two KPA soldiers resting on the beach below to your left, they will no doubt come to investigate the shooting noises.

There are two possible options for you. You can be stealthy about reaching the KPA radar station, or choose the all-out war approach.

If you prefer the stealthy approach, leave the road and move to the right up the hill into the jungle. There is a sniper patrolling up there.

    [Game Saved]

After the onscreen message, you will find the sniper. Get a headshot. Beyond this cliff you will find a road going uphill. Beware. There are groups of three soldiers coming down that road on patrol duty. It’s safe to ignore them. Stealth and hide behind trees or bushes as needed until you reach the road. Walk up the road.

You can use the house to your left to hide and recharge energy before reaching the KPA radar station.

If you prefer the all-out war approach, drive the jeep up the road toward this KPA radar station, killing all soldiers in your way.

Prophet: You’re approaching a KPA radar station. Find a terminal and access their tactical network.

[Secondary: Access the NK tactical network. Activated]

The house is empty. It only serves to hide, while you recharge cloak energy. The low fence ahead will cover you from enemy sight too. Move toward the left to stay covered by bushes.

Now you will see the KPA radar station. There are two KPA soldiers standing in the front. Stay cloaked and follow the fence to move behind the radar vehicle. Kneel down and decloak. The fence will block enemy view so you can recharge cloak energy.

There is a KPA soldier patrolling once you walk around the corner of the fence.

Move to the back of the house where you will find a supply of weapons: a Precision Rifle and a Missile Launcher both resting on the wall near the door. A grenade pack, three FY71 Ammo packs and two pistol guns over the boxes outside the house.

Grabbing any of them will make noise and alert the KPA soldier inside the house, who will come out to investigate. It’s hard to keep silent and remain undetected, so stay in this area and start the headshots using the window and wall as your cover.

As soon as the fireworks start, you will fight seven KPA soldiers searching for you.

Inside the house is a FY71 ammo pack and a FY71 weapon on the table behind the computer terminal. There are three more FY71 weapons and a pack on the other table, and another Precision Rifle resting against the same table.

Press [F] to access the computer terminal. A picture of a school is displayed on its screen.

Prophet: Heads up. We now have exact co-ordinates. The contact is being held in the school. Check your nav.

Nomad: They’re tracking something on the monitor. Looks like a naval fleet heading our way.

Psycho: Must be the cavalry. An entire fleet just for us?

Prophet: That’s not your concern. Stay focused on finding that hostage.

[Secondary: Access the NK tactical network. Completed]

[Find the hostage in the village. Completed]

Note: There might be a soldier sneaking into the KPA radar station. Probably heard the shooting from afar, or maybe he naturally walks into the KPA Radar Station after his patrol path behavior, and notices the corpses. Either way, on your toes.

Crysis – Intro Walkthrough – Chapter 1: Contact

The cinematic intro starts with the view of a dark chamber with crystal spikes. A date is displayed onscreen:

    August 7th, 2020

Helena: (static) … This is Dr. Helena Rosenthal of the IAS research team on the Lingshan Islands. We … The North Koreans have assumed control … (static) They’re rounding up civilians outside …

We found something … buried in the rock … this discovery could change the future of the planet. The Koreans don’t know what they’re dealing with …

    (stifled scream) Please …

Note: An alien door within the mountain interior opens in the darkness.

Note: The video game Crysis loads a cinematic intro to brief the player on what’s happening, where, and why you are here. The following text is displayed onscreen as the cinematic intro begins: Seven Days later … Lingshan Islands, Phillipines Sea – August 14th, 2020.

Note: A military airplane approaches Lingshan Islands.

Pilot: Command this is Skychief, we’re at angels 25, bearing east. We’re getting some radar interference. Looks like an electrical storm brewing.

Pilot 1: That’s a negative, SkyChief. Nothing on our side. Skies are clear. Over.

Pilot: Roger, command. Must be a malfunction. ETA to drop zone: three minutes.

Note: Camera shifts to the interior of the airplane. Nomad is sleeping during the flight, and Jester wakes him up.

Jester: Hey, Nomad. You still with us?

Prophet: OK. Listen up, gentlemen. Intel reports a significant military presence on the island. We have the element of surprise so let’s use it. The North Koreans can’t know we’re here.

Psycho: They wont’ even know what hit’ em.

Prophet: Can it, Psycho. Pay attention. This is a covert operation. Our job is to locate and evacuate. We’re not at war here.

    Psycho: Not yet.

Jester: Prophet, do we even know if these people are still alive?

Prophet: That’s what we’re here to find out. We lost contact with Dr. Rosenthal a week ago when the North Korean military locked down the island. Two days ago we picked up a distress signal from the team’s research vessel. Someone down there wants to be found.

Pilot: Raptor Team, we are beginning approach. Stand by for green.

Prophet: Alright. Gear up. Masks on. Once we clear the plane, form up on me. Chutes on my mark.

    Pilot: Green in 5 … 4 … 3 … 2 … 1

Prophet: Go! Go! GO! See you guys at the LZ. (aka Landing Zone)

Note: All five Raptor Team nanosuit members jump off the airplane backdoor and dive through the sky toward the Landing Zone. As they sky dive, they start talking to each other.

Aztec: So, JSOC’s got us chasing archeologists now? This’ll be a cakewalk.

Jester: I’ve heard of this guy. He musta found something big to buy all this heat.

Aztec: Whatever … Fifty bucks says this Rosenthal ain’t the real reason we’re here.

Note: Prophet appears through the left falling faster to take the lead.

Prophet: Lock it up, team, stay focused. We’ve got limited intel going in. Op Com’s bein’ moved to the USS Constitution. Until they’re five-by-five we’re on our own. Chutes on my command … GO!

Note: Suddenly an alien object flies past them knocking off Nomad’s chute.

Jester: What the hell …? You see that?

    Psycho: Nomad’s hit!

    Jester: He lost his chute!

Nomad: My chute’s gone! My damn chute is gone! I’ve got no main, no reserve.

Prophet: Keep it together, kid. You’re over water. Your suit should absorb the impact. Nomad! What’s your status?

Nomad: I’m OK, I’m OK but my HUD’s scrambled. What the hell was that?

Prophet: I don’t know, but you missed the LZ. Make your way to the beach.

    Nomad: On my way.

Jester: Did ANYONE hit the LZ?

Prophet: You guys are all over the place. Check in.

Psycho: Psycho here. Down and on the move.

Jester: Jester’s down. Proceeding to LZ.

Prophet: Aztec, I have negative visual feed from your unit. Report. Aztec! Report. Damn it.

Note: Game Saved. Get to the beach. Completed.

Nomad: Prophet, I’ve made it to the beach.

Prophet: You hit the water pretty hard. Some of your suit functions are offline. Let me run a quick diagnostic. Your video feed is breaking up. I’m gonna try to recalibrate. Alright. Your suit checks out. You’re back online.

Still no word from Aztec. Nomad, rendezvous with Jester and head to Aztec’s location.

    Check your objectives display.

    Objective: Rendezvous with Jester.

Note: A few tutorial lessons are provided in this initial beach incursion.

Hold [Mouse 3: aka the Mouse wheel] to access the nanosuit controls.

[Tab] button to View objectives and map.

[Mwhell Up]. [Mwheel Down] – Zoom map

    Hold [Right Ctrl] – Crouch

    [T] – Melee

    [Z] – Prone

[C] – Access weapon modification mode

[X] Switch to sleep bullet fire mode when using the tactical attachment.

    [Num 0] – Jump

    [Mouse 1] – Fire weapon

Prophet: Make sure your silencer’s attached. Careful, Nomad. Enemy contact up ahead.

Engage cloak mode by holding down your mouse wheel, and selecting the five o’clock icon (Cloak mode). Make sure pressing [C] that the silencer is activated. Press the [Mouse 2] mouse right-button to shift to Weapon Sights mode for a red laser aim.

You will see a KPA (Korean soldier) on the rock above you. Shoot his head.

Approach quick the edge of the rock, and go into cloak mode. There are only two KPA approaching down the beach to investigate the sudden death of their partner. Dispatch them.

Grab their weapons, and shift to Speed mode by holding your mouse wheel and selecting the twelve o’clock option. Hold down the [Right Shift] to speed up.

Look at the mini-map and chase the green mark. That’s where you will rendezvous with Jester. There are no more KPA soldiers for now. Just a cut-scene.

Aztec: Prophet, this is Aztec. You copy?

Prophet: I read you. Give a sit-rep. (aka Situation Report)

Aztec: Something took a swipe at me on the way down. I’m caught up in the trees. OK, Aztec, hang tight. Help’s on the way.

    Jester: Nomad. Up here.

    Note: Rendevous with Jester. Completed.

Jester: C’mon, let’s get to Aztec.

    Note: Assist Aztec. Activated.

Aztec: Prophet … I’m not alone out here.

Prophet: What have you got, Aztec?

Aztec: KPA. Four man patrol …

    Prophet: Have you been compromised?

    Aztec: Negative … but they’re close … Wait … Something’s …

Note: Lot of shots are heard and the KPA are screaming.

    Prophet: Aztec! Talk to me!

Aztec: Madre Santisima! (From Spanish Translation: Holiest Mother)

    Prophet: Aztec! Sound off now!

Aztec: No temere mal, no temere mal, no temere … (From Spanish Translation: I will fear no evil, I will fear no evil, I will …) PROPHET! HELP ME!!!

Prophet: Nomad, Jester, get to him. Now! Go! Go!

Jester: Nomad, better stick to armor mode. Never know when you’ll need it. Damn! What IS that? Jesus … what the hell happened here?

Note: The four KPA patrol soldiers lie on the ground dead, and bleeding.

    Jester: Did you hear that?

Note: Drops noises are heard. As Jester approaches, and moves past a fallen tree he finds a pool of blood[?]

Jester: I don’t like this, man.

Note: Jester looks up to find out the source.

Jester: Shit! Son of a bitch!

Note: Aztec is hanging upside down from his chute stuck on the trees. He is dead. His arm and leg torn and missing as if something chewed it off.

Prophet: Jester, report in. What’s Aztec’s status?

    Jester: Dead, boss.

Prophet: Dammit! What the hell is going on out there?

    Jester: I don’t know. But I don’t think we’re alone out here …

Prophet: What have you got? KPA?

Jester: Negative, sir. We got four dead Koreans but there’s no way Aztec killed ’em. Something else took these guys out. Tore the bodies up bad.

Prophet: Damn it. Alright, pay your respects and move on. We’ll rendezvous at the landing zone.

Jester: What about Aztec, sir? We just gonna leave him hanging here?

Prophet: Negative. I’m gonna vaporize. We can’t allow the Koreans to get their hands on that suit. Stand back.

Jester: Damn. I never get used to that. Adios, amigo.

    Note: Assist Aztec. Completed.

Prophet: Jester, take care of his equipment and cover our tracks. Nomad, move out to the LZ.

    Nomad: Got it, boss.

    Jester: I’m on it, Prophet.

Objective: Rendezvous at the Landing Zone. Activated.

Note: Look at the mini-map. Head north toward the green mark. There is a wall of rocks. Hold down the mouse wheel button and select the Strength Mode (closed fist icon) then press [Num 0] to jump using strength jump.

Jester: What the hell was that?

Prophet: Hold on. I’m seeing movement ahead. Switch to cloak mode. KPA patrol. Deal with ’em. Nice and quiet.

Note: Dispatch the two KPA soldiers. Now look at the mini-map. The green mark is to the east.

Prophet: Nomad, I just lost our comsat to JSOC. Our whole tactical display’s down. The KPA must be using a GPS jammer near your location. Find it and take it out.

Nomad: Copy, Prophet. I’m on it.

Objective – Secondary: Disable the GPS jamming device. Activated.

Note: The mini-map shows now a yellow mark by the beach, indicating the location of the GPS jammer. Looks like a small wagon with a rotating radar. As you approach the beach, the camera view is narrowed to panoramic view.

Prophet: We spotted KPA patrols down on the beach. Use your binocs to tag ’em before you run in blind.

Note: Press [B] to use the binoculars. The Mouse wheel up and down allows you to zoom in and out. The binoculars will show you the location of the GPS Jamming device.

Nomad: I see a large transmitting array. That must be the jamming station.

Prophet: Shit, they’ve called in reinforcements. Enemy units headed your way. Nomad, we’re blind here until you find that jammer.

There are at least four KPA around the beach. One boat is patrolling the coastal waters. One KPA is manning a turret aboard that boat, so head down your right in cloak mode. There are some rocks nicely placed to take cover while you recharge cloak energy. Dispatch the guard patroling the right side of the GPS jamming device.

Note: You can go silently and deactivate the jammer, or engage enemy units, but they will call for reinforcements. If you go that way, Prophet will remind you the secondary objective.

Prophet: We need to re-establish comms with JSOC. Find that jammer, Nomad, and take it out.

Note: Secondary: Disable the GPS jamming device. Completed.

Prophet: Good job! Tac system back online. Proceed to the LZ.

Note: Inside the cabin you will find two FY71 Ammo, and a Pistol ammo. Nothing else is found in the docks, or elsewhere in this area. Go take the jeep if reinforcements came. Otherwise, go along the road to the south.

Not too far in when Prophet talks, there’s two KPA watching the road. Move in in cloak mode. Both have FY71 ammo. Grab them.

Prophet: The LZ is overrun! Psycho and I are moving to the signal location … Nomad, there’s a checkpoint blocking the path up the valley so deal with that first. Transmitting the co-ordinates now.

Note: Switch to speed mode by holding down your mouse wheel and selecting the uppermost icon. Run Southeast and to your left to find the beach cliff.

Switch to cloak mode. Jump down the cliff, and keep moving forward to the beach. Use the rocks to hide while you wait for cloak energy to replenish. If your energy is running out, and rocks aren’t nearby, the palm trees will do a nice hiding place to keep you off sight while you repleshing energy.

There is a jeep with a manned turret so stay out of sight or cloaked, there is also a turret-manned boat patrolling the coast, and three KPA soldiers are sneaking toward you among the rocks around the beach.

Best way to surprise them is to climb a big rock on the beach.

You can shoot them from up the rock, but make sure to stay out of sight of the jeep to the east, and the patrolling boat. Dispatch the three KPA, but beware. Two more KPA will come from the area near the jeep, so stay back and hide behind the rock while you replenish cloak energy.

Sometimes the KPA will throw frag grenades if they see you hiding behind the rocks. You will see a red highlighted frag grenade coming your way. Better run when you see those. All the five KPA have FY71 Ammo. Grab them.

Position yourself behind the rock edge, and make sure the jeep is out of your line of sight to get a headshot on the incoming KPA walking toward you. This prevent unnecessary damage from the jeep turret. Use your surroundings to your advantage. Always. Throughout the whole game.

Switch to cloak mode, and hide behind a rock. Press [Mouse 2] right-button to switch to Weapon Sight. You can use the laser view attachment by pressing [C] if it’s missing.

Aim and kill the KPA manning the turret on the Jeep.

Prophet: Listen up! We’ve tracked the distress signal to a valley 3 clicks due east. Psycho and I are inbound. Get to the rendezvous but be advised, enemy forces are dug in deep.

    Nomad: Copy, Prophet.

Note: Take the Jeep by pressing [F] near it, and press [F1] to switch to third-person view. Hit [1] to turn on the jeep. As soon as you move out, the game will be saved.

Just around the corner, you will be surprised by another jeep standing still. You will be greeted by the KPA manning its turret. There are three KPA on the right side of the road as you pass by, and another KPA standing next to the jeep. Take them out with the jeep turret.

There is a sixth and seventh KPA not far away by the boat resting on the beach. Make sure to watch the Jeep’s damage meter. You should abandon the jeep if it reaches 85% or the explosion will kill you.

At this point, there is a boat harbor on sight by the beach, and there are two KPA checkpoints full and loaded with guards. You will mostly be on foot, and that’s a long journey. If you like adventures, be prepared for a tough fight. If you like the stealth approach, saving time, you should grab the boat. Try to stay away from the coast to avoid enemy fire from afar.

I prefer this strategic option because as soon as you hit the KPA check point base, you will get a secondary objective to find a computer terminal all the way on the other side of the island which can be accessed by sea saving you valuable time.

Prophet: Nomad, I’m reading a lot of enemy activity close to your position. Keep a low profile. If they spot you, they’ll call in re-enforcements.

Note: In the mini-map you will see the coast looks like a crater, keep heading north and go past those small islands until Prophet says this:

Prophet: Nomad, JSOC indicates that the KPA have a command post on the eastern peninsula. I need you to infiltrate and check for intel on enemy emplacements. I’m uploading the co-ordinates now.

    Nomad: Roger that.

Secondary: Investigate North Korean Command Post. Activated.

Note: You should keep driving the boat as far from the coast as possible, until you see a battleship in the horizon. Kill the boat that is no doubt going to open fire on your boat. Get as close to the boat as you can — tackle it and shoot at both KPA on the boat that upclose.

Keep heading north. You will see a message onscreen: Game saved.

Prophet: Nomad, you’re closing in on that command post. I suggest you switch to cloak and sneak in undetected.

Note: As soon as Prophet says this, stop the boat. Look to your right. Get the boat to the rocky beach shown in the previous image and the image below.

Above the cliff is a command post. Climb the cliff by jumping the rocks in strength mode. As soon as you have reached the top, you will see a red barrel.

Switch to cloak mode and use rocks and palm trees to hide while replenishing cloak energy. Move toward the metallic housing shown below.

You can enter this compound without shooting a single KPA. The objective is to enter the metallic housing and to click the computer terminal within.

There is a FY71 ammo on the table next to the trailer entrance, and another FY71 to the left of the computer terminal. Behind it is a grenade pack.

Press [F] on the computer terminal to begin downloading data.

Nomad: Got it. I’m in. Downloading now.

Secondary: Access North Korean Tactical Network. Completed.

Nomad: Got the intel. Proceeding to rendezvous.

Prophet: Good work, Nomad. According to these reports they have evacuated the entire civilian population in a matter of days.

Psycho: What the hell are they hiding?

Prophet: It gets better … Looks like General Ri Chan Kyong is in charge of the whole operation. If you thought this’d be easy, think again. Kyong means business, and he’s got the KPA’s elite Special Forces unit watching his back.

Note: As you leave the metallic housing, a message onscreen shows up: Game Saved. The easy way out of here is walking to the south and immersing into the jungle to hide behind a rock to replenish energy.

This is how the command post looks like down the hill from the road.

There are about two or three KPA down the road. Stay out of sight. If they see you or you kill one, they will sound the alarm and re-enforcements will clock in on you. If that happens, just keep running down the road. You will see two civilian pickup trucks. Aboard one and drive it toward the green mark in the mini-map (the KPA checkpoint).

Stop the civilian pickup truck when Prophet talks and says the following:

Prophet: We ran into a KPA check point up here. You’re gonna need some firepower to get past it. Stock up on grenades if you can find ’em.

Note: The game will auto-save here again. Keep to your left and hug the wall literally until you reach the checkpoint.

Don’t need to enter the small village nearby. That’s like entering a beehive. As soon as the “going up the hill” ends, cloak. Prophet will warn you.

Prophet: You’re approaching a line of KPA defenses. Use grenades to blast your way through.

Note: Past the bushes, you will see a barricade. Keep hugging the wall and hide behind rocks to replenish cloak energy.

While Prophet gives some nice advise from time to time, I suggest the stealthy approach, and taking a few headshots.

Walk toward the left side of the barricade and kneel down. Strike a headshot on the KPA soldier next to you. Because you are kneeling, the other two KPA by the barricade entrance won’t have sight of you. Shoot one, then stand up and shoot the other one.

Grab their ammo, one will have a shotgun. Replace your FY71 with the shotgun. It is not so great for long distances, but packs a punch in close encounters. You have about 20 sec to grab all ammo. Three KPA soldiers will come down the path uphill. You can hear them talking.

Hide behind the tree and use line of sight. Use the tree to block your view from the other two soldiers, and headshot the first one coming down the hill. Cloak, then shoot the second. Hide behind the tree. Cloak, and shoot the third.

Prophet: Nomad. Get to the rendezvous ASAP. There’s something here you need to see.

Nomad: What have you got, Prophet?

Prophet: Just get up here. You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.

    Nomad: On my way.

Go up the hill to the top where you will find a small camp with a communications antenna tower. Before the corner, cloak. Approach quietly.

There are two KPA on sight. Shoot the red barrel to make it explode. Both KPA will die.

Another KPA will come from the back of the camp (if the explosion didn’t kill him), so cloak or hide ASAP. That one in the back will likely throw a grenade if you are hiding behind the rock. Dispatch him. You will find a grenade stack and a FY71 Ammo pack near the antenna tower.

You don’t need to backtrack through the path. Just jump down to the path on the east side of the cliff.

Because of the explosion, you might see around three KPA coming from the nearby village. You can either dispatch them or you can ignore them and run through the KPA checkpoint — the green mark on your mini-map.

Use speed mode, then switch to strength mode to jump above the rock formation.

There’s no more KPA after this point. Rendezvous with Prophet, Psycho and Jester who are waiting for you.

They found a boat in the middle of the mountain top. The whole area is frozen and covered with ice. This is where the signal for help was originally detected. This is the LZ, or landing zone all of Raptor Team was supposed to land on when they jumped from the airplane. The alien object incident that broke Nomad’s chute was the cause to break formation into the LZ.

Prophet: ‘Bout time you showed up. You believe this?

Jester: Looks like someone had a little trouble parking their boat …

Prophet: We seem to have hit a dead-end. And I’ve lost our secure channel to JSOC. Too much electrical interference on this island.

Psycho: Hey, boss. I got something. Topographic Map. There’s an area highlighted.

Prophet: This valley here must be where the excavation site is located.

Psycho: How can you be sure?

Prophet: I’m not. But it’s all we’ve got to go on. We need to get moving.

Psycho: I’m not going anywhere until you give me some answers. I’m not buying that ‘locate and evacuate’ bullshit any more.

Jester: Yeah, since when do the North Koreans have themselves a motherfucking Freeze-Ray?

Psycho: Damn straight! I feel like I jumped into a bloody’ comic book here!

Prophet: I’ve told you everything you need to know.

Psycho: That’s bollocks and you know it. Aztec’s dead and we ain’t got the first idea what killed him.

Jester: I saw him up close, boss; he was mutilated, ripped in two. I mean what are we dealing with here? ‘Cause it ain’t just Koreans.

Psycho: Jester’s right. If this Rosenthal guy was a proper nut — we wouldn’t be here.

Prophet: Cut the crap, Psycho. You’ve all been fully briefed. Our job is to find those people and that’s what we’re going to do. We’re moving out now, and that’s —

    Jester: What the —

Note: Loud alien noises seem to be approaching. The camera view of Nomad (you) moves back and forth looking upwards.

    Jester: Something’s here. Holy shit.

Note: The boat is split in half as a unknown alien creature breaks in and grabs Jester and swings him back and forth. Then disappears as fast as it broke in.

    Psycho: It’s got Jester.

Prophet: We have to go … we have to go. NOW! Come on! Move! Move!

Objective: Rendezvous at the distress signal. Completed.

    Find Jester. Activated.

Psycho: Do you see it?! Where’d it go?!

Prophet: This way! Come on! Move!

Korean Soldier 1: What the hell is that!

Psycho: Bloody hell! You see that thing?!

Prophet: Stay on track. We’ve gotta find Jester. To the east.
Let’s go! Let’s go! Keep after him! Go! Go! Come on, we need to find Jester. Let’s move out.

Note: If you are quick moving toward the green mark on the mini-map, looking down the cliff, you will manage to see the alien retreating away from Jester. Jump down to end the Intro level.
